Seattle Soccer Development Academy
Westside United is pleased to partner with SYSA to launch the 2009 Seattle Soccer Development Academy. It consists of 6 sessions on Friday evenings in the Spring. Designed to supplement players’ current training and matches, it is a great training preparation for players intending to participate in the upcoming SYSA select soccer team tryouts in early May.
Academy Director Peter Fewing brings his 30 years of coaching and playing experience (2 National College Coach of the Year and 2 National Championships with Seattle University) to craft a high-powered youth-friendly program. The Academy brings you the Coerver® Coaching method, used by top clubs worldwide such as Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United. Go to www.sysa.org and click REGISTRATION to sign up.
The curriculum was created and will be delivered by the experienced Development Academy staff, led by COERVER® Coaching technical trainers, with staff coaches from Emerald City FC, Westside United, FC Shoreline and other SYSA Youth Development programs. The program promises to deliver high-powered, high-performance training sessions. Space is limited. Scholarships available for qualifying families. It is open to players that will be registering in 2009 at U10, U11 and U12.
The Development Academy provides an outstanding opportunity for serious, young soccer players to challenge themselves and develop the skills necessary for higher level competition. Through drills focused on dribbling, ball mastery, precise passing and receiving, shooting and small sided games, players will develop the fundamental skills and techniques essential to moving their game to the next level.
When: Fridays, March 20th through May 1st
Times: 5pm (Boys U10, Girls U10/U11) and 5:30pm (Boys U11/U12, Girls U12)
Where: Shoreline A/B Fields, 1st Ave NE and NE 190th St
Cost: $145 per player; cost includes Academy t-shirt
